Positioned Uniquely to Foster Business Growth

Posted on by Kristi Sullivan

Be on the lookout... the new 2019 Doing Business in Connecticut guide, annually produced by the Hartford Business Journal (HBJ), has hit the streets!  This magazine-style book is chock full of content to provide readers with an overview of the numerous resources available for supporting and reasons for choosing to do business in our great state.

Earlier this year, we sat down with Donna Collins, HBJ’s associate publisher, to discuss this valuable publication in a CERCONOMY podcast episode. CERC has been a long-time partner with HBJ and is proud to support HBJ’s efforts to provide this valuable content to readers across the state and beyond our borders.

Similar to previous years, the most recent Doing Business in Connecticut edition examines the many advantages for companies to grow their operations in the state and highlights why Connecticut is in a prime position to attract new business. The content is designed to provide top level executives and officials with insight into Connecticut’s strengths, such as thriving industries, talented workforce, evolving infrastructure, and coordinated support from both public and private entities. Our state’s drive for research, innovation, and economic development positions Connecticut uniquely to foster business growth.

Doing Business in Connecticut is also a great tool for recruiting companies to and retaining business in the state. CERC and our partners at DECD include a printed or digital copy in our relocation packages, and bring samples regularly to trade shows and events. This year, DECD and CERC collaborated on an ad in the booklet to highlight our joint efforts to engage and attract new, expanding, and relocating business.

Here are 6 ways you can use this publication as a recruitment/retention tool:

  1. Leave a printed copy in your reception area
  2. Circulate a copy among your staff so they are familiar
  3. Include a web link in your next e-newsletter
  4. Promote the info on your website
  5. Include in your business development information packets (even on a flash drive)
  6. Invite Donna from HBJ (or connect with me!) to have a conversation with your organization about how to use the publication in your business development efforts

Don’t miss getting your copy - visit DoingBusinessInCT.com for the digital version, or find a printed edition in next week’s HBJ mailing. Or if you stop by the CERC office, we’ll have a copy ready for you!
