CT Business Leaders are Buzzing About This...

Posted on by Kristi Sullivan

Have you heard the good news? Connecticut IS a great place to live and work, and this past week has a lot of successes to prove it!

Watch our new video to hear about the many reasons to live and work in our great state…

The video highlights the state’s quality of life, businesses, education and location, and some of the related rankings that set Connecticut apart from our competitors. CERC is working with DECD on an ongoing basis to track the latest statistics that position our state positively for businesses and residents, and developed a Choose CT fact sheet along with the video. The movie was a collaborative effort with CERC’s partners, as all footage was “borrowed” from previously existing film from across the state. Our goal is to shift the mindset of both existing residents and visitors by showcasing the unique aspects that show why many love calling Connecticut home.

After a highly successful conference hosted by DECD last week, the momentum is building for this important initiative that is helping to create real estate projects, fund business growth in key sectors, and drive overall economic development. The event, captured by CT-N, featured key speakers talking about investing, financial return, job creation, and positive social impact with an audience of more than 400 community leaders, investors and developers interested in Opportunity Zone development. CERC provided DECD with administrative and marketing support behind the scenes.

And finally, thank you to IEDC for recognition of our 2019 Economic Development Week…

CERC and CEDAS were recognized at the recent International Economic Development Council’s annual conference with an Excellence in Economic Development Award for our week-long celebration highlighting partners and efforts happening across the state. The IEDC awards are chosen by economic development peers from across the country, validating the good work happening locally to grow the economy. Keep an eye open for details about the 2020 CT ED Week soon.
