Elizabeth (Beth) Wallace became director of the state's Smart Start program, which is overseen by the Office of Policy Management in 1998. She assists business owners with registration, licensing and permitting processes.
Prior to the launch of the Smart Start program Ms. Wallace held multiple positions at CERC. She joined CERC in 1994 as a business information specialist and has also worked in the Research and Marketing departments.
Ms. Wallace previously worked at RPM Systems, an economic and environmental consulting firm in New Haven. She is a graduate of Marymount University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in economics.
She is currently a member of the Connecticut Economic Development Association (CEDAS), the Northeastern Economic Developers Association (NEDA) and Project Management Institute, and recently completed the New England Economic Development Course.
