As the Director of Marketing, Kristiana Sullivan oversees CERC's marketing department and related services provided to municipal, regional, state, utility and other economic development organizations. Ms. Sullivan's work has included the creation of marketing and public relations strategies and implementation of tactical plans for CERC clients such as the Connecticut Development Authority, the Department of Economic and Community Development, the Department of Public Utility Control, CONNSTEP, Capital Workforce Partners, the New Haven Manufacturers Association, and the town of North Branford.
Her professional development includes completion of Advanced Strategic Marketing for Economic Development Teams and Strategic Economic Development Leadership sponsored by the UEDA at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. Before being promoted to her current position, Ms. Sullivan joined CERC as a marketing specialist to oversee management of the state's business development campaign, You Belong in Connecticut.
Previously, Ms. Sullivan worked in special events and fundraising for the Greater Hartford Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and in public and government affairs for AAA's Automobile Club of Hartford. During her time at AAA, she was the voice of on-air construction updates on WTIC-AM 1080.
While earning a bachelor's degree in communication at Boston University, Ms. Sullivan built her experience at the former Boston Garden, MTV in New York, and the Australian Museum in Sydney, Australia.
Ms. Sullivan has served on the board of the Connecticut Chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) since 2000, and was president of the chapter during 2002-2003. She also is a member of the Connecticut Economic Development Association (CEDAS), the Northeastern Economic Development Association (NEDA) and the Utility Economic Development Association (UEDA), and previously volunteered as an ambassador with the MetroHartford Chamber of Commerce.
