The Connecticut Economic Resource Center, Inc. (CERC) hired Bloomfield resident, Erron Smith for the newly created position of Economic Development Specialist.
In the new position, Smith will be responsible for ongoing support of CERC's economic development tools in addition to assisting the director of real estate. Smith's major focus will be on CERC SiteFinder®, Connecticut's most comprehensive database of commercial and industrial real estate, including retail, office, investment and specialty sites, and E.D.D.ITM, a first-of-its-kind online database of economic and demographic information for Connecticut and its metro areas, counties, and towns.
Smith will be responsible for working closely with Connecticut's municipalities to populate data and promote the sites.
"It is important that we allocate our time and efforts to continue growing Connecticut's economy," said Robert Santy, president and CEO. "Bringing Erron on board gives us the ability to have a full-time staff person working with these essential tools on a daily basis, providing the constant support that both programs require."
Smith earned a bachelor's in business administration from Temple University's Fox School of Business with a concentration in Human Resource Management. Prior to joining CERC, he was a senior branch account executive for Citi Financial in Hatboro, Pennsylvania. Smith is currently a member of the Connecticut Economic Development Association.
