Dale P. Shannon, Senior Economist, is responsible for developing, compiling and analyzing economic data pertinent to CERC's mission of promoting economic development in Connecticut.
From 1992 to 1999, Mr. Shannon worked for the Bureau of Economic Analysis in Washington, DC as a research economist, where he applied economic theory to statistical and econometric methods in data analysis to research a variety of issues relating to international direct investment and to regional economic analysis. During this time, he co-authored articles for the Survey of Current Business and was involved in a number of significant data publications.
Since joining CERC, Mr. Shannon has applied his analytic, econometric and statistical skills to enhance the quality and depth of the research projects CERC has undertaken. His familiarity with quantitative regional economic tools including economic impact analysis, inter-industry linkages, gravity modeling, industry cluster analysis, and comparative benchmarking and multiple public and private data sources has allowed CERC to provide quality analysis directly focused on the client's needs. Mr. Shannon has also contributed to the development and refinement of regional data tools including the Connecticut Town Profiles, CERC DataFinder®, and the data components of the Economic Development Data and Information (E.D.D.I.) project.
Mr. Shannon earned his master's degree in economics from Boston University. He holds a bachelor's degree in history from Houghton College.
