The towns of Ridgefield and Torrington recently joined CERC SiteFinder, Connecticut's most comprehensive database of commercial and industrial real estate, providing an opportunity for these towns to promote available properties online and increase their reach in attracting businesses to the area.

Managed by the Connecticut Economic Resource Center, Inc. (CERC), SiteFinder is a nationally marketed web site (www.CTSiteFinder.com), which currently has more than 2,500 listings, equaling more than 50 million square feet and 9,000+ acres available for lease or purchase. Since its inception in 1997, more than 15.5 million square feet of space in Connecticut has been leased, purchased or constructed via SiteFinder, associated with retaining and creating approximately 7,000 jobs statewide.

Membership allows Ridgefield and Torrington to promote properties to nearly 100 commercial brokerage firms and hundreds of brokers in the state with automatic linkage to national online listing services. Each SiteFinder listing contains multiple photos and a profile of the site or facility, including location, lease or cost information, access and other data.

"SiteFinder is an important economic development tool for municipalities and allows them to be competitive on local, statewide and national levels.  Coupled with our other resources including E.D.D.I., an online searchable database of economic and demographic information on Connecticut, users have access to the data needed for the site selection process," said Robert Santy, CERC's president and CEO.

CERC's Director of Real Estate Melissa Pasquale added, "SiteFinder is an easy-to-use, cost-effective resource that allows towns to maximize their exposure and receive added-value marketing through CERC's real estate efforts."
