The town of Oxford recently joined SiteFinder, Connecticut's most comprehensive database of commercial and industrial real estate, providing the town with an opportunity to further promote available properties and increase their reach in attracting businesses to the area.
Membership allows the town to promote available real estate on the nationally marketed SiteFinder Web site (www.CTSiteFinder.com), with exposure to nearly 100 commercial brokerage firms and hundreds of brokers in the state and automatic linkage to LOOPNET TM, FastFacility and CCIMnet - national, online listing services. Each SiteFinder entry contains a photo and profile of the site or facility, including location, lease or cost information, access and other data.
"SiteFinder is a valuable economic development tool," said Dan Conte, economic development director for the town of Oxford. "We've had inquiries on all three of our recently listed properties and they came from sources we would not have identified on our own."
SiteFinder, managed by CERC (the Connecticut Economic Resource Center), currently has more than 2,300 active listings, equating to more than 105 million square feet and more than 10,000 acres available for lease or purchase. Since its inception in 1997, more than 11.3 million square feet of space has been leased, purchased or constructed via SiteFinder, associated with retaining and creating approximately 9,000 jobs statewide.
"SiteFinder is a cost-effective way for towns to reach a vast audience," said Melissa Pasquale, director of real estate at CERC. "There are more than 5,000 searches taking place each month on the Web site, making it an extremely effective tool to market properties."
CERC is a nonprofit company specializing in economic development and marketing for local, regional, state and utility economic development entities. Funded by 10 of the state's utility and telecommunications companies in partnership with state government, CERC also markets the state as a competitive business location.
