Site selectors and others who need data to make business location decisions can now easily research and learn about New London and Ledyard through E.D.D.I. (Economic Development Data and Information), a web site managed by the Connecticut Economic Resource Center, Inc. (CERC).

Building on the regional data provided by the Southeastern Connecticut Enterprise Region (seCTer),
New London and Ledyard are providing localized knowledge within E.D.D.I., Connecticut's only online searchable database of economic and demographic information for the state, its metro areas, regions, and towns.  Users can find hundreds of data points representing labor force, wages, leading employers, business growth and more, as well as maps, links and printable flyers.

Recent research shows that most businesses begin their search for new properties and new locations online. The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) worked with site selection professionals nationwide to develop guidelines for the type of information businesses need to make investment decisions; E.D.D.I was developed according to these IEDC standards.  CERC manages E.D.D.I. with funding provided by its utility partners and supports the efforts of
Connecticut towns to utilize E.D.D.I. and keep its data current.

"It's important to create worldwide visibility for Connecticut towns, CERC provides that opportunity, free of charge through E.D.D.I.," said Brian Palaia, Development Director, Ledyard.

"CERC's mission is to help grow Connecticut's economy and the competitiveness of its towns and regions," said Robert Santy, President and CEO of CERC.  "As towns sign on to E.D.D.I., it shows that Connecticut is willing to work with businesses to start, relocate and expand here."
