New software purchased by the City of Bridgeport will allow the city to better understand the fiscal impacts of its proposed developments.  The purchase marks the first time in Connecticut that a municipality will directly utilize this web-based software, developed by Infracycle with training provided in partnership with the Connecticut Economic Resource Center, Inc. (CERC).  The Bridgeport Economic Resource Center (BERC) will also be a licensed user of the software to assist in the evaluation of economic development projects pursuant to their operating agreement with the city.

"This tool provides objective data that will help the city make development decisions to positively impact the area," said Bob Santy, President and CEO of CERC.  "We are excited to partner with Infracycle to make this opportunity possible."

"We are pleased to be working with CERC to deliver our sound methodology, which helps the non-financial decision maker produce fiscal analyses of development proposals," said Ray Essiambre, President of InfraCycle Software.

CERC is working with the City of Bridgeport and BERC to facilitate the baseline municipal data collection process.  In addition, CERC will assist the city with technical support that may be needed as the city begins analyzing development options and fiscal impacts.

"My administration is focused 100 percent on the progress of economic development.  This software will be an important tool to help analyze potential projects and keep moving economic development forward in the city," said Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch.

CERC and Infracycle previously partnered to develop fiscal analyses for the proposed developments of Evergreen Walk, now a retail development, in South Windsor, and more recently, Darrow Pond in East Lyme.  CERC and Infracycle's project with Bridgeport is also being supported by The United Illuminating Company.
