Name Overview
Capital Region Workforce Development Board The Capital Region Workforce Development Board (CRWDB) was looking to increase awareness and devise a marketing campaign to reach key stakeholders, or the people and organizations that were partners and beneficiaries of the programs being offered in its extensive 37-town network. To do so, they had to identify the stakeholders, craft messages, plan tactics and create materials to showcase CRWDB's programs.
Connecticut's Industry Cluster Initiative The Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) partnered with CERC in 1999 during the process of adopting and developing the Connecticut Industry Cluster Initiative, the state's strategy for conducting economic development.
CONNSTEP - Connecticut's Manufacturing Resource It was essential for CONNSTEP to establish a way to market itself and its services to manufacturing companies. A campaign was launched to help increase awareness and promote their new image. The goal was realized and the campaign was a success.
Darrow Pond - East Lyme

The town of East Lyme is evaluating a proposed development called Darrow Pond, an Active Adult Community for residents 55 years and older.  In 2006 the town requested that CERC conduct a fiscal impact analysis to fully understand the long-term costs and revenues attributed to the proposed development.

Department of Public Utility Control The Department of Public Utility Control was looking for a way to inform and educate consumers about the current status of electric restructuring. DPUC would have to develop, either in-house or outsourced, a process to meet the immediate consumer education and outreach needs and goals.
Knowledge Corridor A study was conducted to compare and contrast the Hartford-Springfield area's competitiveness. The region has been dubbed "New England's Knowledge Corridor," in part because of its great concentration of higher educational institutions.
Long Wharf Mall A proposed regional mall in the city of New Haven prompted a study to see how downtown merchants would be affected by the development.
Manufacturing Alliance of Connecticut (MAC) Index The MAC Index is a critical tool that each year measures the competitiveness of Connecticut manufacturers versus their counterparts in other states.
Middlesex Community College MxCC sought the assistance of CERC to develop a marketing communications plan to build awareness for its programs and services, inspire growth, increase enrollment and to launch its precision manufacturing program and laboratory. MxCC would need a marketing communications plan that would target well defined groups such as individuals seeking to further their education, area organizations and multipliers. It would need to update and possibly create new collateral pieces and revamp their existing web site.
New Haven CEDS A 15-town region in the New Haven area received federal funding to complete a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS).
North Branford North Branford hired CERC to formulate an economic development action plan, followed by a strategic marketing plan.
Office for Workforce Competitiveness In the spring of 2000, CERC entered into an agreement with the Office for Workforce Competitiveness (OWC) to provide support and assistance for various workforce-related initiatives.
Simsbury - Infinity Business Park The owner of a piece of property in Simsbury that was available for commercial development, working with the town of Simsbury, asked CERC to identify the types of companies that would best be located on the property and to find a way to reach those companies.
South Windsor - Evergreen Walk The town of South Windsor needed to determine the financial impacts of a proposed mixed-use development and then communicate the findings to residents. The Economic Development Commission hired CERC to conduct a fiscal impact analysis, to present the findings at a public meeting, to provide a PowerPoint for commission members to use in other meetings and to create a video to run on public access about the development, called Evergreen Walk.
Town of Berlin The town of Berlin was looking to attract businesses to their community. However they needed to identify the types of businesses that they should go after, create a marketing campaign to reach those targeted companies and create materials to showcase the town's attributes, emphasizing the town's strategic, central location.
Waterbury ITZ The Information Technology Zone is a 42-block area in the heart of downtown Waterbury that was established in 1998 as a result of legislation introduced by Senator Stephen Somma. The state of Connecticut committed $2.2 million to install advanced communications infrastructure and offer generous financial incentives for information technology companies locating in the Zone.
Willimantic

CERC, along with a group of partner organizations, approached town of Windham officials and stakeholders in the fall of 2003 with a proposal to offer an action plan for the development of downtown Willimantic.
